Nightingale

Press Play To Listen To: Nightingale - By Saves The Day

Nightingale
By Saves The Day

And I will flail under these lights,
That seep down from the bitter sky tonight
And I will kick, and beat my wrists together
And feel an ocean breathing waves,
Feel them licking at my face
Ceilings don't exist, and there are no floors beneath me
If I were king of this night, would you become my queen?

And I hope, your majesty, that you like your position
I'll do everything I can, to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness, to find us a kingdom
Just kiss me before I go

I'll have to walk a thousand miles
Just to find the ground deserving of your feet
You could throw me down, and walk on me
And I'd just look on through my love, and through the haze

And I hope, your majesty, that you like your position
I'll do everything I can, to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness, to find us a kingdom
Just kiss me before I go

The nightingales are singing now
They're calling out our marriage
To our subjects on their knees
Their jewelery is thrown into the air
They sigh at their release
As their shackles hit the ground
The trumpets call out now
We're home at last

And I hope, your majesty, that you like your position
I'll do everything I can, to keep you by my side
And I'll stare off through the darkness, to find us a kingdom
Just kiss me before I go

With One's Heart In One's Mouth
By Moving Mountains

When all is lost
You've got nothing more
Nothing more to fear
Than me, and lovers blood

Draped across your tangled flesh, and bones
Your taste is all I know
Someday you'll find me
Where the darkness grows from light
And the waters flow like rivers, from your chest
And your heart, your heart
Is breaking mine to pieces

Wait
When all is lost
You've got nothing more to fear
Than Me
Than Me

Overboard

Overboard
By Ryan Johnston

Was it something that we engraved,
Or was it carved into us?
At bedtime, forever loved
Hanging onto the tail, of tales
If we could be a part of it
If we could feel the love..
And if things didn't work out,
Could we become what we let go?
Could we let it go?

Was it speechless?
Calling feeling to that control
Was it everything, that you'd hoped for?
Leaving estranged,
All you knew were strangers
Leaving what you recall
Ending, broken down
Never on board,
But you'll go over one
You'll go over

Mud Hill

Mud Hill
By Samiam

Car windows icing over
Speaking steam, with your breath
Through the floating strands of your hair
Am I just like the rest?

You say you don't want anyone, or anything
Say this hurts you too
I wouldn't bother, but this means everything to me
So spare me now

Rehearse the words you say
Repeat them again, as you see my driveway
While searching for something more
Beyond this lonely hill

I pretend to hear you
Act as if I understand
I try to convince you, I don't hate you
But it's hard to do

You say you don't want anyone, or anything
Say this hurts you too
I wouldn't bother, but this means everything to me
So spare me now

Rehearse the words you say
Repeat them again, as you see my driveway
While searching for something more
Beyond this lonely hill

Pals

Pals
By Pygmy Lush

Chewing on trash, fluorescent blues
Don't eat the food, don't even move
Just get on your feet

Didn't put up a fight, didn't even try
Just sat and waited, completely fleeced and baited
But no. No Sir

Pals, thru and thru, huddled in a violent room
Carving on the wall with broken fingernails
Laying on the floor, a toilet with no door

In the unknown, when I get lonesome
Some how you help me feel
Man, I feel

Pals, thru and thru

Ghosts Of Fallen Stars

Ghosts Of Fallen Stars
By Ryan Johnston

Shoreline, cloak and dagger sky, clear when you could see
Both of us moving now, drifting wreckage in the waves
And the current beneath us breathes, like an underwater wind
Pulling you away from me

On these Summer nights, with a kingdom fast asleep
The ghosts of fallen stars, haunt a restless galaxy
Like a cemetery view, from a window in your room
Endings are all I see

Old photographs, they dangle on a string
Frozen imagery, hooked to summertime dreams
A picture that you carved, never moving from your arm
Anchored to memories

Spring is a waiting room,
Waiting for a turn
Winters heavy eyes
Falling like her crown
She'll leave with an avalanche
Gaining weight and speed
A suicidal drive
Always instilled in me

And I'm, daydreaming again
Something, that I have never been

And there is no order here
Nothing left for me
The cadence to my heart
Seems to have lost it's beat
There are no time machines
No needles or thread
Only broken glass
That won't reflect or mend

And I'm, unable to stay afloat
A heavy chest, gold turned into stone

And I will ponder this
You’ll fall for someone else
I will mourn the loss
Of what to you, does not exist
I'm on the ocean floor
You're shining through the waves
You cemented my heart
Something, that is permanent

Guilt

Press Play To Listen To - Guilt By Pygmy Lush

Guilt
By Pygmy Lush

The guilt of the world is here
And more than my thinking, has me dying
It's got me dying
The pain in our arm, is aiming out
The breeze of the heart won't lie down
Won't lie down
Don't cry, my day
Don't cry, my day
Don't cry, my day
Don't cry, my day

Air

Air

Apathy falls in the ocean
At least we went down fighting
At the bottom of the ocean
This scenery can fail calm

Up till now been riding fine, yeah
But the curving walls leave me behind, yeah

Do you remember the days?
Did you forget those days?
What would the odds makers say?
Would the odds makers say?

We're drinking on jet streams, through to
Ideas won't happen
Laid out on benches, through to
Sink for this reason

If you see through these motives,
You'll please report your progress
To the captain, our captain
So he can mark the atlas

Never considered this a prize
But the curving walls leave me behind

Do you remember the days?
Did you forget those days?
What would the odds makers say?
Would the odds makers say?

We're drinking on jet streams, through to
Ideas won't happen
Laid out on benches, through to
Sink for this reason

Outbound

Press Play To Listen To: Outbound - By Transit

Outbound
By Transit

On an outbound train, surrounded by strangers
I wonder, just where they'll go
As the world flies by, right outside my window
I see the birds in the sky, with nowhere else to be

As our train car derails, and rolls into the ocean
I'll be honest, I wouldn't miss a thing
About these cold-hearted towns
And the distance between everyone here, and everything

As the world flies by, outside of my window
I'll be honest, I wouldn't miss a thing
When compassion is dead, we'll drown ourselves
In a sea of paper that glitters like gold

Some say that hate, that it speaks in whispers
But I can hear their curdling screams
And as our train car derails, and rolls into the ocean
I'll be honest about everything

As the world flies by, outside of my window
I'll be honest I wouldn't miss a thing.
As the world flies by, outside of my window
I'll be honest about everything
With the exception of a few familiar faces
This place will never feel like home
So we keep our distance, and we learn to say goodbye
This place will never feel like home to me

Cemetery Road

Cemetery Road - By Elevator Division

Cemetery Road
By Elevator Division

You and I, and no one else
I thought you were the one
I thought you were the one
A time we'd never need God's help
I thought you were the one
I thought you were the one

Impatience got the best of us
But love is never wrong
If it's love, it's never wrong
Our bodies joined, and became as one.
But how could that be wrong?
If it's love, it can't be wrong

Now I'm walking alone
Where the trees bend overhead
Down Cemetery Road
There's a beautiful silence,
That keeps me alone
Where the trees bend overhead
Down Cemetery Road
There's a beautiful silence,
That keeps me hanging on
It keeps me hanging on

It's strange, the claims that lovers make
To promise to always be anything
Is to promise the impossible
Yeah, it's strange the claims that lovers make
To promise to always be anything
Is to promise the impossible

We promise the impossible
We wish for the impossible
We pray for the impossible
We wait for the impossible

Meet Me In Montauk
By Circa Survive

Leave just as you came (without a sound),
Nothing to ruffle your ends.

I've been wandering around,
Making up movies in my head
So we say don't let it go,
Let me try and pull out pride
I already forget how I used to feel about you

Leave as fast as you came, no invitation
Nowhere to go from here.

I've been wandering around,
Wondering how I got so, got so, so fucking boring
All the sudden, so fucking scared... I'm not scared.
You'd mean so much more to me if I remembered.

Ladder Song

Ladder Song - By Bright Eyes

Ladder Song
By Bright Eyes

No one knows where the ladder goes.
You're gonna lose what you love the most.
You're not alone in anything.
You're not unique in dying.
Feel estranged every now and then.
Fall asleep reading science fiction.
I wanna fly in your silver ship.
Let Jesus hang and Buddha sit.

It's on now.
The days are long now.
The ups and the sun downs, in a twisting mind.
If I got to go first.
I'll do it on my terms.
I'm tired of traitors, always changing sides.
They were friends of mine.

Don't hang around once the promise breaks.
You'll be there when the next one's made.
Kiss the feet of a charlatan.
Some imagined freedom.
All the rest is predictable.
You can say you're the first to know.
Bought a mantra to concentrate.
Car alarm or hissing snake.

I know now. How its going to turn now.
You gotta calm down, or Ill lose my place.
Gotta get to the center.
Gotta get to the concert.
Run off with a dancer.
Gonna celebrate.

Welcome the new age.
Covered in all your pain.
Lights from the jungle to the sky.
See now a star's born.
Looks just like a blood orange.
Don't it just make ya want to cry?
Precious friend of mine.

Well I know when its finally done.
This whole life is a hallucination.
You're not alone in anything.
You're not alone in trying to be.

Picture-less

Picture-less
By Ryan Johnston

There wasn't a sound
As it spilled onto the ground
I couldn't run away
And I knew you wouldn't stay
The sun bled through winter trees
Without the tourniquet of summer leaves
There was the brightest light
Lighting seared the bleeding sky
Sealing a night so dark
I knew it would always live on
And I would burn alive
Just to be there one more time

If you'd meet me before the fall
When the mirror reflected smiles
Not a million broken eyes
One for every time I tried
The blood on the glass is mine
Asleep, and dreaming of the rain
That washed those things away
That night you came to stay

Darkness litters my thoughts
Looking for the road we lost
The best of times we made
Crumbled bread to mark the trail
But the Ravens stormed like a black hurricane
And they swept that place away
And I would burn myself alive
Just to be there one more time

If you could meet me on top of the wall
Before the mirror was the floor
And reflections were so much more
Than bleeding out in broken glass
Asleep, and dreaming in the rain
Washing all those nightmares away
Every moment next to you

Six By Two

Six By Two - By Kill Creek

Six By Two
By Kill Creek

I'll be back to pull the garden
Spring has proven winter cruel
And all of summer's beauty, lies there rotting
Stripped like yours, from you

And I know I, can't stand remembering
The dirt under our fingernails
The silence, your defense
Tired, over tired hand

And we spent December
Given our best shot at hating
But now, as I remember,
We had no reason to abuse

I'll force God to notice
That he, is giving nothing back
And all of us were wet out in the boneyard
He washed the tears from you

And I know you, deserve none of this
My distance, as we stole flowers from his grave
The silence, my defense
Tired, over tired hand

And I recall the ways
You pretended not to notice
But we both sowed the soil
That grew only what could die

And if you believe,
That I tried only to deceive
You know, that's not, true

Sea Of Teeth

Sea Of Teeth - By Sparklehorse

Sea Of Teeth
By Sparklehorse

Can you feel the wind of Venus on your skin?
Can you taste the crush of a sunset's dying blush?
Stars will always hang in summer's bleeding veins.

Can you feel the rings of Saturn on your finger?
Can you taste the ghosts who shed their creaking hosts?
But seas forever boil, trees will turn to soil.

Stars will always hang in summer's bleeding fangs
But seas forever boil, trees will turn to soil.
